The Bullingdon Community Centre provides a home for a range of activities and services for residents of the Lye Valley and Churchill wards of Oxford. It is run by a group of local residents, the Bullingdon Community Assocation (BCA), and is concerned to promote the well-being of everyone living in Lye Valley and Wood Farm.

The BCA is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO: charity registration number 1200270).

Our aims are:

* To provide recreational and leisure activities for residents of the local communities;

* To support collective action which is concerned with improving the welfare of the local communities;

* To work in partnership with statutory and voluntary organizations in improving social facilities and the quality of the local environment;

* To manage and maintain the Community Centre and related facilities (e.g. the all-weather sports area at Peat Moors) for the benefit of the local communities.

The Centre is located at the Peat Moors recreation ground in the Lye Valley ward. Nearby is the Lye Valley nature reserve. The original Community Centre was built by local residents in the late 1940s and was demolished and rebuilt in 2022. The new Bullingdon Community Centre opened in January 2023.

The facilities at the Peat Moors recreation ground also include an all-weather sports area with flood lights, a junior-sized football pitch and a children’s play area.

Membership and management

Full membership of the BCA is open to residents of the Lye Valley and Wood Farm wards and associate membership is available for people who live outside of the wards. The trustees of the BCA hold open meetings at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of the month. If you want to get involved contact Richard Bryant (Secretary) on 01865 769263 or email [email protected]
