The Wood Farm Youth Centre is looking for volunteers to help with the management and running of the youth centre. Two of our long-standing officers and volunteers are due to retire later this year and, if we cannot attract new committee members and officers, the future of the youth centre is looking rather bleak.

The WFYC is a small community-based organization which opened in 2002 and is based in a portacabin in the grounds of the Wood Farm Primary School. The WFYC is the only provision of its type for young people on the Wood Farm estate and the nearby Lye Valley area. Currently we run, in partnership with Youth Ambition (Oxford City Council), two youth work sessions a week which combine centre-based activities and outreach work. The youth centre is also used, on five mornings a week, by the Wood Farm Parent and Toddler Group and by ‘Reach’, a support group for women who suffer from mental health issues. Over the years our main source of funding has been provided by the Oxford City Council and the Oxfordshire County Council.
