Our weekly Repair Café, previously known as the ‘Fix-it Café’ will be ten-years-old in January, which probably makes it the longest running Repair Café in Oxfordshire.
‘In January 2016 a weekly Fix it Café started at Bullingdon Community Centre which invited people to bring household items to be repaired by a group of retired men who have a wide
range of technical skills’ (History of the Bullingdon Community Centre, Richard Bryant)
A number of the volunteers who started the group are still busy fixing on a Tuesday morning. Last year they welcomed nearly 200 customers and saved 297 Kg of household items from going into landfill.
We are having a celebration on Tuesday 27th January between 10a.m. and 12 noon. Everyone is welcome. (Sorry no fixing on that day!)
